Reviews are in Icelandic.
Most live tables are not run by the casino itself but by a studio that streams the same games to many casinos. Evolution is the largest: 9 of the 13 casinos we review carry it (Betsson, LeoVegas, Coolbet, VegaZone, Spinzen777, Hugo777, SpiNight, NovaJackpot, Instant Casino). Pragmatic Play Live appears at Spinzen777 and Hugo777. Because the studio is shared, the same roulette wheel can appear at several casinos. The difference between them is the casino around the table: its licence, its limits and how fast it pays.
For range, Coolbet lists over 500 live tables. Respin and Hugo777 have VIP tables for higher stakes.
Live roulette and blackjack play exactly like their table versions, with a real wheel and a real shoe. Game shows such as Crazy Time and Lightning Roulette add random multipliers, which raise the top payouts and lower the return on ordinary bets. Our Lightning rúletta page covers how that game works, in Icelandic.
Live games often count only partly towards a wagering requirement, or not at all. If you mostly play live, a welcome bonus may be worth little to you. Our bonus comparison lists the requirement each casino states. One offer is aimed at live players: SpiNight, 25% live-casino cashback up to €200, 1× wagering.
A live blackjack hand takes well under a minute, and a session can cost more than it feels like it does. Set a deposit limit before you start. Betsson and Casumo have the most complete set of limit and time-out tools among the casinos we review.
Iceland's Lotteries Act No. 38/2005 covers both games of chance and betting. Its penalties are aimed at whoever runs gambling without an Icelandic licence and whoever advertises it; since a 2010 amendment the advertising ban applies whether the operator is based in Iceland or abroad. No provision penalises the player. A foreign online casino cannot get an Icelandic licence, so every site on this page operates without one. This is a reading of the statute, not legal advice. The full text, quoted in Icelandic, is on our page on the law.
Yes. Under the Income Tax Act No. 90/2003, winnings from bets and games count as taxable income. The exemption covers only lotteries that hold a special Icelandic permit, and online casinos are not among them. Winnings are declared on the tax return, box 96, and taxed at your ordinary income tax rate. Details and the 2026 brackets are on our tax page.
7 of the 13 casinos we list pay us a commission when someone signs up through our link. The other 6 (Betsson, LeoVegas, Coolbet, Casumo, Respin, Instant Casino) pay us nothing and are listed on the same terms. Each card says which is which. The order follows our scores, not the commission.
Gambling costs money; it is not a way to make it. If it is costing you more than you meant to spend, the Icelandic Red Cross helpline 1717 is free, anonymous and open around the clock (1717.is). More help in Iceland is listed on our help page. 18+ only.
On our overall scores the top three are 1xBet, Hype.bet, Betsson. For the widest live selection, Coolbet lists over 500 live tables. 9 of the 13 casinos we review carry Evolution, the studio behind most live blackjack, roulette and game shows.
The cards and wheels are physical and streamed from a studio, so there is no random number generator to audit. The house edge is the same as at the equivalent table game. What matters is that the casino is licensed and pays out, which is why the table above shows the licence and our measured withdrawal next to each one.
Often only partly, or not at all. Many casinos count live games at a reduced rate towards the wagering requirement. If you mainly play live, check that rate before accepting a welcome bonus, or play without one.
SpiNight: 25% live-casino cashback up to €200, 1× wagering.
